Why I Train the Way I Train

I used to think fitness was just about lifting heavy weights. Bench more. Squat more. Look strong, feel strong — that was the goal. That’s what I thought training was all about. But then I stepped into a place that completely rewired my understanding of what it means to truly train — a place called Ultimate Athlete.

At Ultimate Athlete, everything changed. I was introduced to a new kind of strength — one that had nothing to do with PRs and everything to do with purpose. Watching and learning from Jeremy Martin and being inspired by the adult members who showed up day after day, I started to see that fitness isn’t just physical. It’s spiritual. It’s mental. It’s about community. It’s about showing up for yourself and the person next to you — and becoming forged through the fire together.

One moment solidified it all for me — the 24-hour workout challenge at our gym. A full day of sweat, struggle, soreness, and spirit. It wasn’t just about testing our physical limits. It was about endurance, grit, and how deep we were willing to go to come out stronger on the other side. That night, somewhere between exhaustion and breakthrough, I realized that this was more than fitness. This was life. And this was the path to becoming something more than just strong — this was the path to becoming resilient.

On the wall at Ultimate Athlete it reads:

“Where everyone trains like an athlete.”

That’s not just a quote. That’s a mission. It doesn’t matter your background, age, or skill level — when you step into that gym, you’re an athlete. And every rep, every run, every drop of sweat becomes more than just exercise. It becomes a battle against the old you — and a step closer to who you’re meant to be.

The runs that leave your lungs gasping…

The soreness that lingers for days…

The early mornings when the world is still asleep…

The rope climbs that rip your hands raw…

The burpees until the clock dies…

They all add up.

They add up to a stronger mind. A sharper spirit. A deeper drive.

I’ve done things I never imagined I could do. I’ve woken up with purpose. With fire. Ready to run, lift, grow in my faith, and nourish my body with good food. Fitness, to me now, is no longer about appearance — it’s about becoming the ultimate version of myself.

And the truth is, I couldn’t do it alone. Ultimate Athlete showed me the real power of community. We push each other. We lift each other. We carry each other through the hardest moments. We don’t just train to be better — we train to become.

Every session, I get stronger. Every challenge, I grow deeper.

And I know now, God guided me here.

He led me to this community to shape me into the man I was born to be.

I am becoming the Ultimate Athlete — physically, mentally, and spiritually.

And I’m just getting started.
